Joomla 1.5 has many similarity’s to 1.13 so i made fairly quick progress in setting the shell of the portal. Too begin with i downloaded and installed an excellent skin, 68portal by Axel Wehner. This was one of the finalist in the Joomla 1.5 template competition. Lot of nice designs to choose from, green seemed a good color for real estate.
Unused domains...What to do?
By Bright Ibeawuchi on Jan 6, 2008 | In Technology | Send feedback »
I have acquired many domain names over the years. Some from planned projects that never saw the light of day, some from clients that dropped the project and some that i purchased and have not had time to develop. Names include LosAngelesRiver.com, ChinaRealEstateMarket.com, Blogject.com, Networkinthesky.com. Any ideas what projects i can develop these into? Click more to see the whole list.
Joomla 1.5 RC1

I finally took the plunge and downloaded and installed the latest Joomla CMS. Joomla 1.5 release candidate one. Having several sites running 1.13 i wanted to get a head start on seeing what the new version was all about. I installed on a unused domain at ChinaRealEstateMarket.com I will try and build a Chinese real estate market portal as a learning tool with Joomla 1.5 Installation was pretty straight forward. set up the SQL data base with C- Panel and ran the browser based install program. I was asked my SQL database name and user name, and that was pretty much it. installed without a hitch. I accessed the admin section and was greeted with a much cleaner and streamlined GUI then previous versions. Components, Modules, Templates, and Plug ins have all been rolled into a single Extensions menu. The install included two templates Beez and Rhuk_milkyway. I have heard a lot about the beez Accessible Template template and look forward to seeing what all the fuss is about. Well…thats all for now stay tuned for further developments. feel free to monitor developments at ChinaRealEstateMarket.com
